How we teach
A confidence-first, two-stage approach to English learning.
Bloom's four programmes are delivered across two pedagogical stages — because how a 5-year-old learns English and how a 15-year-old learns English are genuinely different processes, and treating them the same way fails both.
Not one method — three, blended.
A proven, blended approach.
Bloom doesn't rely on a single teaching method. Every lesson blends three complementary approaches, each doing a different job:
Task-Based Language Teaching (TBLT)
60% of class time
Real-world fluency through meaningful tasks. Children use English to actually do something — solve a problem, plan something, tell a story — rather than repeat phrases with no purpose behind them.
Communicative Language Teaching (CLT)
20% of class time
Structured social interaction. Speaking and listening practice built around genuine back-and-forth conversation, not one-directional drilling.
Explicit Form-Focused Instruction (FFI)
20% of class time
Grammatical accuracy taught to support communication rather than as an end in itself. Grammar earns its place because it helps children say what they mean more clearly.
English that grows with your child.
Two distinct stages, designed around how children learn best at every age.

Four principles behind every Bloom lesson.
A confidence-first approach that grows naturally with every child.
Confidence first
Children need to feel ready before they can communicate confidently.
Communication before correction
The goal is meaningful communication, not perfect English at every moment.
Structure when ready
Children receive more explicit structure as their age, confidence, and ability develop.
Clear progress tracking
Progress is monitored through ongoing observation, communication tasks, and clear milestones.
